USTA NorCal offers adult league opportunities for both singles and doubles for players 18 and older. League seasons typically span 10 weeks, offering a chance for teams to progress to local Playoffs, Sectionals and even the prestigious USTA League National Championships, where teams can represent Team NorCal against the 16 other sections across the nation. This league provides players with the opportunity to engage in weekday team tennis, offering a fun league experience that concludes with Section Championships. 2025 SCHEDULE:
Tri-Level Team Tournaments are a way for League players to compete together in team, packing all of the action into one weekend event. Men’s and women’s teams, featuring players from three NTRP levels, compete in the following categories based on strength: 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0; 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5; 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0.

Players, before registering for a USTA NorCal Adult League, make sure you have the essentials ready including the captain’s approval to join and the web address for the team’s home page (your captain can send you the link).
Ensure your USTA membership covers the league season. Join or renew today. If you’re a current USTA member playing concurrently in another section or recently moved to NorCal, please call our office at 510-748-7373 to get your membership updated.
Obtain a valid NTRP rating before registration. CLICK HERE for self-rate instructions. For self-rating assistance, contact an Adult League Coordinator. It takes two to three business days for the self-rate process to be completed. You’ll need to sign a waiver and have your USTA number handy, along with contact information. Registration fee for 2025 is $33.
Click on “join a team” from your NorCal player profile and navigate through the division listings to find your appropriate league, division, and team page. Click on “Player Registration” on your Team Page. Complete the checkout process and Pay the non-refundable league fee. Starting from 2023 Leagues, eligible players receive an automatic credit of $29.85 within two weeks of the local league season’s end.
Note: Starting with 2024 Leagues, if a player has not played for a team and or received a default win, and is not required for the at-level requirement, the player will automatically receive a credit of $29.85 within two weeks of the end of the local league season that is good for 12 months and will automatically be applied to a future team registration within 12 months.
USTA NorCal is offering an incentive for new players and first-time captains to try an Adult League! New players can join their first USTA NorCal league for free with the First USTA NorCal League “Free” promotion. This offer is valid for eligible players new to USTA NorCal leagues. Before the season begins, use this guide to help you walk through all of the steps you need to take. When you’re ready to set up your team, ensure you have a full roster of committed players. Follow these guidelines below for a seamless process:
Limits players from Section Championship teams forming new teams at the same or lower level in the next season.
Each league has a minimum age requirement.

Local League Playoffs are the first level of postseason play. Playoffs determine the winning team(s) from each local area.
The winners of Sectionals advance on to National Championships where teams represent NorCal against the 16 other sections in the country.
